Nestling in the heart of the Devon countryside, these five cottages sleeping 4 to 7 people offer rural idyll with some very lovely touches. For instance, enjoy freshly baked croissants delivered to your door after an early morning dip in the 40' by 20' by 3' 3" deep indoor pool. After breakfast, take a stroll from your front doorstep in some of the glorious surrounding countryside or wander the Tarka Trail beside the River Taw and maybe spot one of the otters that live there. Perhaps visit one of the many tourist attractions or gourmet pubs within easy driving distance and in the afternoon relax and be pampered by a choice of therapists who will visit your cottage. In the evening, lounge in front of the wood burning stove, watch a video from the library, listen to the birdsong, whatever!!!  |
Our five cottages have been tastefully converted from impressive stone walled barns built by Napoleonic prisoners of war. They surround a large pretty courtyard and each one has been designed and individually furnished with the utmost care to ensure every comfort and convenience. All have light spacious living rooms upstairs with original beams across their tall lofty ceilings, central heating, wood burning stoves, fitted carpets, large comfortable sofas, televisions, videos, HiFi and hairdryers. Everything you would expect from a well equipped fitted kitchen is in every cottage. All have hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezers (except Tarka), dishwasher, food processor, toaster, iron etc. A central laundry room by the courtyard has washers and dryers for your use as well as a payphone, tourist information and a small video library. We can also provide fax, email and telephone answering services for those who need them. All beds will be fully made up on your arrival and the welcome pack will include such necessities as tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter, as well as some homemade shortbread or flapjacks. If there is any additional shopping you would like us to do before you arrive, please let us know. To make sure that everyone gets a holiday, we sell a range of delicious freezer meals for you to reheat in your own cottage. All water is from our own bore hole so is especially delicious. |

Evidence of our small but charming town can be found in the Domesday book of 1086 and today North Tawton is still a thriving Town surrounded by beautiful countryside and located right in the centre of the County of Devon between the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor. |
